Bard Announces Property Tax/Rent Rebate Deadline Extension

The deadline to apply for the Property Tax/Rent Rebate  has been extended from June 30 until Dec 31 said Rep Ellen Bard .

 Eligible participants are age 65 or over, widows and widowers age 50 and over  and persons with disabilities age 18 and over .  The household eligibility limit is $15,000. They may receive a rebate of up to $500 based on their property tax or rent in the year 2,000 and they may also  exclude 50% of their Social Security  benefits and railroad retirement income when determining their income limit.
