Amendment to Property Tax and Rent Rebate Program passes the House

Rep. Bard's  legislation  to amend to House Bill 570 , referring to the the Property Tax and Rent Rebate Program has passed the House.

Amendment A1615 would increase the maximum rebate amount to $1,000 from $500.  The increase for the maximum rebate amount would apply to taxable years  beginning after December 31, 2000.

Approximately 45,300 claimants would receive the maximum rebate amount of $1,000.

Rep. Bard has also prime sponsored HB 761 which addresses this issue.
